The Minnesota Vikings' twenty-ninth season was in 1989, and it was the fourth season Jerry Burns served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 10-6-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the San Francisco 49ers 41-13. At the end of the season, Keith Millard was awarded with the AP Defensive Player of the Year award.
