The Washington Football Team's eighty-ninth season was in 2020, playing their home games at FedExField. During the offseason they hired Ron Rivera to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for nine years. They finished the year 7-9-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC East, but they lost their first playoff game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23. At the end of the season Alex Smith earned Comeback Player of the Year and Chase Young earned AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
