2000 was the sixty-fifth season for the St. Louis Rams. During the offseason they hired Mike Martz to lead the team. Martz previously was the offensive coordinator of the St. Louis Rams and has a total of eight years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the season 10-6-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the New Orleans Saints 31-28. At the end of the season Marshall Faulk was awarded with the AP Offensive Player of the Year award.
