The Philadelphia Eagles' forty-eighth season was in 1980, and it was the fifth season Dick Vermeil served as the head coach of the team. The Eagles played their home games at Veterans Stadium. They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC East, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Oakland Raiders 27-10. At the end of the season, Harold Carmichael was awarded with the Man of the Year award.
