2001 was the eighty-second season for the Chicago Bears and the second season for Dick Jauron as the head coach of the Bears. They finished the season 13-3-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the Philadelphia Eagles 33-19. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Dick Jauron, Coach of the Year and Anthony Thomas, AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.
