1997 was the seventy-seventh season for the Green Bay Packers and the fifth season for Mike Holmgren as the head coach of the Packers. They finished the season 13-3-0 in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs eventually losing to the Denver Broncos 31-24. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Brett Favre, Most Valuable Player and Robert Brooks, Comeback Player of the Year.
