The San Diego Chargers' thirty-third season was in 1992, playing their home games at Jack Murphy Stadium. During the offseason they hired Bobby Ross to lead the team. Ross previously was the offensive backs coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in 1981 and has a total of four years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the year 11-5-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC West, and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Miami Dolphins 31-0.
