The Cleveland Browns' twenty-sixth season was in 1971, playing their home games at Cleveland Stadium. During the offseason they promoted Nick Skorich to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for three years. They finished the year 9-5-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC Central, but they lost their first playoff game to the Baltimore Colts 20-3.
