Biography

Mike Smith was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1999 until 2018, finishing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their defensive coordinator. Over his nineteen years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 167-137-0. During his career he was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 until the 2014 season. The Falcons went 66-46-0 during their seven seasons with Smith as head coach. During the 2008 season as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons he coached Matt Ryan to the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player.
