Biography

Norb Hecker was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1959 until 1986, finishing his career with the San Francisco 49ers as their linebackers coach. Over his eighteen years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 143-109-5. During his career he was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 1966 until the 1968 season. The Falcons went 6-35-1 during their three seasons with Hecker as head coach. During the 1968 season as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons he coached Claude Humphrey to the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
