The Atlanta Falcons' first season was in 1966, playing their home games at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. During the offseason they hired Norb Hecker to lead the team. Hecker previously was the defensive backs coach of the Green Bay Packers and had seven years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the season 3-11-0, 1-6-0 at home and 2-5-0 on the road.
