The San Francisco 49ers' thirty-ninth season was in 1984, and it was the sixth season Bill Walsh served as the head coach of the team. The 49ers played their home games at Candlestick Park. They finished the year 15-1-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC West, and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Miami Dolphins 38-16, the team's second championship win. At the end of the season, Joe Montana was awarded with the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award.
