The San Francisco 49ers' forty-first season was in 1986, and it was the eighth season Bill Walsh served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 10-5-1 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the New York Giants 49-3. At the end of the season, Joe Montana was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year award.
