The Miami Dolphins' seventh season was in 1972, and it was the third season Don Shula served as the head coach of the team. The Dolphins played their home games at Miami Orange Bowl. They finished the year 14-0-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC East, and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Washington Redskins 14-7, the team's first championship win. At the end of the season Don Shula earned Coach of the Year; Earl Morrall earned Comeback Player of the Year; and Jake Scott earned Super Bowl Most Valuable Player.
