The Miami Dolphins' seventh season was in 1972, and it was the third season Don Shula served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 14-0-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Washington Redskins 14-7, the team's first championship win. At the end of the season Don Shula earned Coach of the Year; Earl Morrall earned Comeback Player of the Year; and Jake Scott earned Super Bowl Most Valuable Player.
