1982 was the twenty-third season for the Los Angeles Raiders and the third season for Tom Flores as the head coach of the Raiders. They finished the season 8-1-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs eventually losing to the New York Jets 17-14. At the conclusion of the season two different people were recognized for their successful seasons: Marcus Allen, AP Offensive Rookie of the Year and Lyle Alzado, Comeback Player of the Year.
