The Cleveland Browns' thirty-seventh season was in 1982, and it was the fifth season Sam Rutigliano served as the head coach of the team. The Browns played their home games at Cleveland Stadium. They finished the year 4-5-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Los Angeles Raiders 27-10. At the end of the season, Chip Banks was awarded with the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
