The Cleveland Browns' thirty-seventh season was in 1982, and it was the fifth season Sam Rutigliano served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 4-5-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Los Angeles Raiders 27-10. At the end of the season, Chip Banks was awarded with the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
