The San Diego Chargers' twenty-third season was in 1982, and it was the fifth season Don Coryell served as the head coach of the team. The Chargers played their home games at Jack Murphy Stadium. They finished the year 6-3-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Miami Dolphins 34-13. At the end of the season, Dan Fouts was awarded with the AP Offensive Player of the Year award.
