2002 was the forty-third season for the Oakland Raiders. During the offseason they hired Bill Callahan to lead the team. Callahan previously was the offensive coordinator/offensive line coach of the Oakland Raiders and has a total of seven years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the season 11-5-0 in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs eventually losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 48-21.
