The Oakland Raiders' forty-third season was in 2002, playing their home games at Network Associates Coliseum. During the offseason they promoted Bill Callahan to lead the team. Callahan previously was the offensive coordinator/offensive line coach of the Oakland Raiders and had seven years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the year 11-5-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC West, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 48-21.
