The Buffalo Bills' third season was in 1962, playing their home games at War Memorial Stadium. During the offseason they hired Lou Saban to lead the team. Saban brought two years of experience as a head coach. They finished the season 7-6-1, 3-3-1 at home and 4-3-0 on the road. At the end of the season, Cookie Gilchrist was awarded with the AP AFL Player of the Year award.
