The New England Patriots' twenty-sixth season was in 1985, playing their home games at Sullivan Stadium. During the offseason they promoted Raymond Berry to lead the team. Berry previously was the interim head coach of the New England Patriots and had twelve years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the year 11-5-0 in the regular season and 3-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Chicago Bears 46-10.
