The Los Angeles Rams' forty-eighth season was in 1983, playing their home games at Anaheim Stadium. During the offseason they hired John Robinson to lead the team. Robinson previously was the offensive backfield coach of the Oakland Raiders in 1975 and has a total of one year of coaching in the NFL. They finished the year 9-7-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Washington Redskins 51-7. At the end of the season, Eric Dickerson was awarded with the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
