The Washington Redskins' fifty-second season was in 1983, and it was the third season Joe Gibbs served as the head coach of the team. The Redskins played their home games at RFK Stadium. They finished the year 14-2-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC East, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Los Angeles Raiders 38-9. At the end of the season Joe Gibbs earned Coach of the Year and Joe Theismann earned AP Offensive Player of the Year.
