The Philadelphia Eagles' forty-first season was in 1973, playing their home games at Veterans Stadium. During the offseason they hired Mike McCormack to lead the team. McCormack previously was the offensive line coach/assistant coach of the Washington Redskins and had eight years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the season 5-8-1, 4-3-0 at home and 1-5-1 on the road. At the end of the season, Roman Gabriel was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year award.
