The Detroit Lions' sixty-fifth season was in 1994, and it was the sixth season Wayne Fontes served as the head coach of the team. The Lions played their home games at Pontiac Silverdome. They finished the year 9-7-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Green Bay Packers 16-12. At the end of the season, Barry Sanders was awarded with the AP Offensive Player of the Year award.
