The Houston Texans' thirteenth season was in 2014. During the offseason they hired Bill O'Brien to lead the team. O'Brien previously was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach of the New England Patriots in 2011 and has a total of five years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the season 9-7-0, 5-3-0 at home and 4-4-0 on the road. At the end of the season, J.J. Watt was awarded with the AP Defensive Player of the Year award.
