The Houston Texans' thirteenth season was in 2014, playing their home games at NRG Stadium. During the offseason they hired Bill O'Brien to lead the team. O'Brien previously was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach of the New England Patriots in 2011 and has a total of five years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the season 9-7-0, 5-3-0 at home and 4-4-0 on the road. At the end of the season, J.J. Watt was awarded with the AP Defensive Player of the Year award.
