The Dallas Cowboys' nineteenth season was in 1978, and it was the nineteenth season Tom Landry served as the head coach of the team. The Cowboys played their home games at Texas Stadium. They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC East, and 2-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers 35-31. At the end of the season, Roger Staubach was awarded with the Man of the Year award.
