They finished the year 12-4-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the NFC East, and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Buffalo Bills 30-13, the team's fourth championship win. At the end of the season, Emmitt Smith was awarded with the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award.
