The San Francisco 49ers' forty-eighth season was in 1993, and it was the fifth season George Seifert served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 10-6-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs, eventually losing to the Dallas Cowboys 38-21. At the end of the season Dana Stubblefield earned AP Defensive Rookie of the Year and Jerry Rice earned AP Offensive Player of the Year.
