The Akron Pros' first season was in 1920. During the offseason they hired Elgie Tobin to lead the team. Tobin had never previously coached in the NFL in any capacity before the 1920 season. They finished the season 8-0-3, 6-0-0 at home and 2-0-3 on the road.
