The Dayton Triangles' first season was in 1920. During the offseason they hired Nelson Talbot to lead the team. Talbot had never previously coached in the NFL in any capacity before the 1920 season. They finished the season 5-2-2, 4-1-2 at home and 1-1-0 on the road.
