1999 was the fifty-first season for the Indianapolis Colts and the first season for Jim E. Mora (Sr.) as the head coach of the Colts. They finished the season 13-3-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Tennessee Titans 19-16. At the end of the season Edgerrin James was awarded with the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
