The Indianapolis Colts' thirty-fifth season was in 1987, playing their home games at Hoosier Dome. During the offseason they hired Ron Meyer to lead the team. Meyer brought three years of experience as a head coach. They finished the year 9-6-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC East, but they lost their first playoff game to the Cleveland Browns 38-21.
