The Baltimore Colts' eleventh season was in 1963, playing their home games at Memorial Stadium. During the offseason they hired Don Shula to lead the team. Shula previously was the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions and had three years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the season 8-6-0, 4-3-0 at home and 4-3-0 on the road.
