1940s
The Chicago Hornets' inaugural season was 1946 as the Chicago Rockets. During the decade, the Rockets had a record of 11-40-3 during the regular season and not a single game in the playoffs. They won zero division titles. The Rockets ranked 8th in the West division with a win percentage of 20%. In 1949, the Rockets changed their name from the Chicago Rockets to the Chicago Hornets.
