The Chicago Rockets' third season was in 1948. During the offseason they hired Ed McKeever to lead the team. McKeever had never previously coached in the AAFC in any capacity before the 1948 season. They finished the season 1-13-0, 1-6-0 at home and 0-7-0 on the road.
