Biography

Ralph Hawkins was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1969 to 1989, finishing his career as the defensive coordinator of the New York Jets. Over his twenty-two years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 165-160-1.

During the 1981 season as the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants he coached Lawrence Taylor to the AP Defensive Player of the Year and AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
