2008 was the forty-third season for the Miami Dolphins. During the offseason they hired Tony Sparano to lead the team. Sparano previously was the assistant head coach/offensive line coach of the Dallas Cowboys and has a total of nine years of coaching in the NFL. They finished the season 11-5-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the Baltimore Ravens 27-9. At the conclusion of the season Chad Pennington was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year.
