1969 was the tenth season for the Oakland Raiders. During the offseason they hired John Madden to lead the team. Madden previously was the linebackers coach of the Oakland Raiders and has a total of two years of coaching in the AFL. They finished the season 12-1-1 in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs eventually losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 17-7.
