1969 was the tenth season for the New York Jets and the sixth season for Weeb Ewbank as the head coach of the Jets. They finished the season 10-4-0 in the regular season. However, they lost their first playoff game to the Kansas City Chiefs 13-6. At the conclusion of the season Joe Namath was awarded with the AP AFL Player of the Year.
