The Denver Broncos' nineteenth season was in 1978, and it was the second season Red Miller served as the head coach of the team. The Broncos played their home games at Mile High Stadium. They finished the year 10-6-0 in the regular season, en route to winning the AFC West, but they lost their first playoff game to the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-10. At the end of the season, Randy Gradishar was awarded with the AP Defensive Player of the Year award.
