The Denver Broncos' nineteenth season was in 1978, and it was the second season Red Miller served as the head coach of the team. They finished the year 10-6-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-10. At the end of the season, Randy Gradishar was awarded with the AP Defensive Player of the Year award.
