2016 was the fifty-seventh season for the New England Patriots and the sixteenth season for Bill Belichick as the head coach of the Patriots. They finished the season 14-2-0 in the regular season and 3-0 in the playoffs eventually winning the NFL championship against the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 for the team's sixth championship. At the end of the season Tom Brady was awarded with the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award.
