The New York Giants' thirty-eighth season was in 1962, and it was the second season Allie Sherman served as the head coach of the team. The Giants played their home games at Yankee Stadium. They finished the year 12-2-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Green Bay Packers 16-7. At the end of the season, Allie Sherman was awarded with the Coach of the Year award.
