The Baltimore Colts' twenty-first season was in 1973, playing their home games at Memorial Stadium. During the offseason they hired Howard Schnellenberger to lead the team. Schnellenberger previously was the wide receivers coach/offensive assistant coach of the Miami Dolphins and had three years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the season 4-10-0, 3-4-0 at home and 1-6-0 on the road.
