Katie Sowers was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 2016 to 2020, finishing her career as the offensive assistant coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Over her five years of coaching her teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 40-40-0.
Personal Information
Sowers was born in Hesston, Kansas. Sowers grew up in Hesston, Kansas. She and her twin sister Liz played in the Wmen's Football Alliance together for the West Michigan Mayhem and the Kansas City Tribe. She was the second woman to be a full-time coach in the NFL, and the first ever openly LGBT coach.
