The Chicago Bears' twenty-fourth season was in 1943, playing their home games at Wrigley Field. During the offseason they promoted Hunk Anderson to lead the team. Anderson previously was the assistant coach/co-head coach of the Chicago Bears and had four years of coaching experience in the NFL. They finished the regular season 8-1-1 and continued to the postseason. They faced the Washington Redskins and won 41-21, clinching the NFL championship for the 1943 season.
