The Indianapolis Colts' forty-fourth season was in 1996, playing their home games at RCA Dome. During the offseason they promoted Lindy Infante to lead the team. During his time in the NFL he was head coach for four years. They finished the year 9-7-0 in the regular season but they lost their first playoff game to the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-14.
