Biography

Abe Gibron was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1972 until 1984, finishing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their defensive line coach. Over his twelve years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 55-118-2. During his career he was the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 1972 until the 1974 season. The Bears went 11-30-1 during their three seasons with Gibron as head coach. During the 1973 season as the head coach of the Chicago Bears he coached Wally Chambers to the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
