Biography

Abe Gibron was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1972 to 1984, finishing his career as the defensive line coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Over his twelve years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 55-118-2. He was the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 1972 until the 1974 season, during which time the Bears went 11-30-1. During his career he was a head coach for three seasons.

During the 1973 season as the head coach of the Chicago Bears he coached Wally Chambers to the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
