Biography

John McKay was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1976 until 1984, finishing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their head coach. Over his nine years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative record of 44-88-1. During his career he was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1976 until the 1984 season. The Buccaneers went 44-88-1 during their nine seasons with McKay as head coach. During the 1979 season as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he coached Lee Roy Selmon to the AP Defensive Player of the Year.
