John McKay was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1976 to 1984, finishing his career as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Over his nine years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 44-88-1. He was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1976 until the 1984 season, during which time the Buccaneers went 44-88-1. During his career he was a head coach for nine seasons.

Career Awards

During the 1979 season as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he coached Lee Roy Selmon to the AP Defensive Player of the Year.
