Biography

Career Summary

Eddie Erdelatz was a football coach in the National Football League (NFL) from 1948 to 1961, finishing his career as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Over his four years of coaching his teams compiled a cumulative win/loss record of 29-25-0. He was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 1960 until the 1961 season, during which time the Raiders went 8-20-0. During his career he was a head coach for two seasons.

Before he was a head coach, Erdelatz served as an assistant coach for Lawrence "Buck" Shaw. He spent two years as an assistant coach to Lawrence "Buck" Shaw, finishing as the assistant coach in 1949. One assistant coach from his coaching staffs, Marty Feldman, was eventually hired as a head coach. After coaching on Eddie Erdelatz's coaching staff, he was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders for one season where he combined for a regular season record of 1-13-0 and 0-0 in the playoffs.
