The Oakland Raiders' seventh season was in 1966, playing their home games at Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum. During the offseason they promoted John Rauch to lead the team. Rauch previously was the offensive backfield coach of the Oakland Raiders and had three years of coaching experience in the AFL. They finished the season 8-5-1, 3-3-1 at home and 5-2-0 on the road.
